To keep in touch with those who do not live close by... I guess being a baby from an immigrant couple is not an easy task, and mom and dad have already let me know that I have no other option but be a computer/tech nerd. Enjoy!

8 months / 8 meses

Yesterday, I turned 8 months old, and as usual, we had a cake for me (and as usual, I did not get to eat it!). Eight months of tons of discoveries and adventures… milestones… teething… yes, my eighth month of life was marked by some serious teething, but no teeth yet. This past month I also started to belly crawl, and just before turning 8 months, I started to crawl. I am also a pretty good imitator, so much so that I was able to say ball in Portuguese. Yes, I can say mama and papa (for a while now), Lady , and now ball, but none of these words are consistent, so I guess this is not considered talking yet. I can use pincer grasp to pick up small objects. As a matter fact, I love playing with hair strings.  I can also stand and grab an object with one hand, clap and wave goodbye; again, those are also inconsistent; I only imitate others, so far, but mommy still thinks it is pretty darn cute!

I continue to be a very picky eater, but seem to be eating more. So far, oatmeal and pear are my favorites, but even those are pretty tough to eat at times. I also continue to be a bad sleeper, but my mom has given up on teaching me to sleep (at least for now).

Enjoy the pictures!

*****************************

Aproveite as fotos!

Brasil III

Since my last post, I have done lots... As for my development, I have started to say ball in Portuguese, BO-LA, (10/02/13) and to crawl (16/02/13). I still seem not to understand exactly what the words mean, but can certainly reproduce certain sounds (mama, papa, dada, and now, BOLA). "mama"and "papa"sometimes come in some sort of context, and seem to be meaningful. As for my social life here, while my parents were in several Carnival parades, I stayed home with my auntie Edda, and only went to a special parade for kids on Carnival Monday, 11/02/13. After Carnival, we went to Maragogi, where we rented a small beach house right on the ocean. I loved the water and the sand!!!!!!

Brasil II

I have been enjoying my life down in Brazil. I have been to the beach, to Carnival parties, Olinda, Boat ride on the Capibaribe River. I have also been trying different flavours here: carambola, papaya, maracuja (passion fruit), cookies.

Recently, I have started to wave and clap, but it is not consistent yet. Also, I'm starting to use pincer grasp.
