Daycare / Creche

I have been going to daycare for three weeks now. Mom leaves me a bit longer everyday, and I seem to be adjusting really well. I do cry a bit or make a sad face when she leaves, but shortly after she leaves, auntie Sam makes me feel good and loved again. I am really enjoying all the snuggles with Auntie Sam, and all the fun with my daycare friends and all the animals. Thanks, Auntie Sam, for making me feel like I am home and loved. Love you!

I can now climb slides at the park really well, can open the toilet seat and my next adventure is climbing my parents chest of drawers. :-)

Last Kindermusik class

11 months old / 11 meses

Yesterday, I turned 11 months. My 11^th month of life has been full of adventures. As for my motor development, I am not walking yet, but I am pretty close, and now I can stand on my own for a couple of seconds. Sometimes, I can squat with no support. I have been able to kneel without any difficulties. I am also able to climb up slides at the park. I love the swing. Ah… I was practicing going down the stairs for while and was able to it a few times, while holding onto the rail.

As for my cognitive skills,I have started to point at things, and I am very talkative these days (well, the genetic is quite strong here!). I still only say “mama”, “papa” and “Edi” inconsistently, but I am certainly emitting more sounds now, and seem to pair them up with something meaningful.

This month I also started going to daycare. I have only gone a few hours at a time, and seem to be adjusting well, without a lot of tears. Auntie Samantha, the owner, is pretty sweet and caring, and I am slowly getting attached to her and my daycare friends. By the way, I love seeing other kids there.

I am slowly getting better at eating. I eat almost everyday, at least a couple of meals. I prefer sweet things, and recently I have developed a passion towards yogurt. Some days I accept purees, some days I want to eat with my own hands, some days I don’t eat at all. I continue to breastfeed, and I love my mom’s milk. I also love how secure I feel when I am at her breasts. Ah, I still have no teeth! :-)

Ah, I got my first birthday present. I little coupe. I love it!!!!!!

Now onto the last month of my first year. Life is good!

No ultimo dia 21 de junho, completei 11 meses. Meu 11 º mês de vida foi cheia de aventuras. Quanto ao meu desenvolvimento motor, eu não estou andando ainda, mas estou muito perto, e agora eu posso ficar em pé sozinho por alguns segundos.  Às vezes, consigo agachar sem nenhum apoio. Consigo me ajoelhar sem dificuldades. E dentre as conquistas, uma peripecia: consigo subir o escorrego no parque. Heheheh Ah, tb adoro o balanço. Rio aos montes com painho brincando comigo no balanço. Ah ... eu estava praticando descer as escadas enquanto segurava o corrimão, mas dei uma parada nessa peripécia.

Quanto às minhas habilidades cognitivas, eu comecei a apontar para as coisas, e mostro ser um verdadeiro tagarela (bom, a genética é muito forte aqui!). Eu ainda só falo "mama", "papa" e "Edi" inconsistente, mas estou certamente emitindo mais sons agora, e eles tem mais contexto.

Este mês eu também comecei a ir para a creche. Só tenho ido a algumas horas de cada vez, e pareço estar me adaptando bem. Chego lá sorrindo, gosto muito de brincar com as outras crianças. Tia Samantha, a dona da creche, é muito doce e carinhosa, e estou lentamente me apegando a ela e aos meus amiguinhos

Estou lentamente melhorando nas refeições. Assistir a Galinha Pintadinha nas refeições ajuda muito! Eu como quase todos os dias, pelo menos duas das refeições. No mais, mamo. Eu prefiro alimentos doces, e recentemente eu desenvolvi uma paixão por iogurte. Alguns dias eu aceito purês, alguns dias eu quero comer com minhas próprias mãos, alguns dias eu não quero comer. Eu continuo a amamentar, e eu amo o leite da minha mãe. Eu também adoro a forma como eu me sinto seguro quando estou em seus seios. Ah, e antes que eu esque’ca, mue sorris~ao ainda continua bangelo! hahaahah

Ah, há umas duas semanas ganheir meu primeiro presente de aniversário. Eu carrinho, conhecido aqui como soupe. Eu amei!!!

Stomach Flu

Last week I had the stomach flu. I was really sick for a couple of days, and on the second night mom and dad decided to take me to the hospital to take some meds to stop the vomiting. My dad was also not well. He had a very stiff, painful neck. Mommy played the nurse for a couple of days.
