Annual Picnic Community Midwives of Kingston

Today, mom and I went to the picnic of the community midwives. She made brigadeiros to share, which were gone in minutes.
It was great seeing my midwives, and were able to take pictures with Myriam and Susan.

On a little side note, I have been drooling a lot! And also chewing lots. I chew my hands, my toys, my mom's fingers... anything. Mom thinks that I have started to teeth. Who knows??!! Thank God I seem to have mastered my ability to grab things really well, which enables me to chew as I need.

Also, I have not been sleeping well at night. well, I am sleeping well, but have been waking up quite frequently to eat. On the other hand, I'm starting to sleep a bit longer during the day, and can do up to 45 min stretches on my own.

3 months / 3 meses

Last Friday, I turned 3 months old. :-)

I have been rolling to the side a bit, reaching for objects, and occasionally grabbing them, although I find it very hard to grab things, and can get quite frustrated by my lack of skills to do so. I have also been cooing and gurgling quite a bit. I love to talk to my toys. When on my tummy, I can now lift my head a lot easier, and then put weight one my forearms and lift my chest a bit. I feel like I could use my hands in this position, but I do not feel secure yet.

Na ultima sexta-feira, eu completei 3 meses. :-)

Eu tenho rolado para os lados um pouco, alcancado objetos ainda de maneira bem descoordenada, e de vez em qdo consigo agarrar algum brinquedo, e qdo nao consigo, me frustro muito! Eu amo meus brinquedos e me divirto bastante com eles. Ah sim, e agora consigo levantar muito mais tempo minha cabeca qdo estou de brucos. Consigo ateh me apoiar nos meus antebracos, e ensaio pegar alguma coisa, mas ainda nao tenho um bom controle.

Neste post, vcs encontrarao fotos da minha 12 e 13 semana de vida, assim como fotos do meu 3 mesversario, de um churras para os brasileiros aqui em casa e do niver de mainha. eu adorei todos os mimos que recebi nesses dias. :-)

21 Sep - celbrating 3 months of age with mom and dad. 

12 weeks / 12 semanas

Today, I am 12 weeks. Wow, time sure flies. I have been enjoying every single moment out here. In the last week, I have accomplished a few milestones. First of, I have been able to grab Sophie, a little rubber Giraffe that all babies love, and so I do! I have also grabbed my own foot a couple of times. When on my back, I have rolled to my side a couple of times.
As for behaviour, things are certainly getting better. I have been crying less, and less, and feel that my mom is really starting to understand me a whole lot better. I have almost no witching hour anymore (thank, God!)
The new thing is that I was sleeping really well throughout the night (sometimes waking up only once), but apparently I am going through a growth spurt, so I'm hungry a bit more often. I have been eating every 1 1/2 to 2 hr during the day, and a max of 3 hrs overnight, in which I wake up three times a night. :S
We had a doctor's appt today, and I weighed 5.75 kg and measured 62.5 cm. Yes, I'm a big, lean boy! Maybe I took that after my dad. According to the nurse, I am not gaining as much weight I should be, which is normal when we babies start to get busier. It is just happening a bit early to me. Oh well, I figured I have no time to waste, so I try to enjoy life as much as possible.

Prenatal reunion

Yesterday, my parents and I went back to Auntie Lindsay and uncle Andrew's house for our prenatal reunion. It was a lot of fun seeing everyone and doing lots of baby talk, a few wet diapers, and breastfeeding all afternoon. Here are some pictures of our reunion.

On a side note, I did not have any crying spell yesterday, and no witching hour either. Yay!!!! I just cried the usual cry to let my mom know I was hungry, wet, tired, etc.

I have also started to play with Sophie, but I'll talk about it a bit more later on.
